Shea McGrath: Colorado Mountain Wedding Photographer
They met four years ago at the All Service Academy Ball in Colorado Springs and hit it off right away. Soon after, they had their first date full of fun activities such as mini golf, eating burritos, and the watching the movie “Brave” in theaters. While they were dating, Dave was moved to Pensacola and was stationed there for the Navy. One weekend, MacKenzie flew in to visit him and right when she got off the plane, Dave surprised her with flowers and an engagement ring!
MacKenzie contacted me several months ago and explained in an email that it was fate that I be her photographer because her middle name is Shea, spelled exactly like mine, and her last name is McGrath!
Their wedding was beyond beautiful and it was fun to photograph Navy wedding traditions, such as kissing in order to get past the two swords crossed in front of them at the end of the aisle after the ceremony, one of the guards tapping the bride on the butt with the sword saying “Welcome to the Navy”, and cutting their wedding cake with a sword. Their patriotic colors of red, white, and blue were beautiful and very fitting for MacKenzie and Dave’s stunning wedding day!
Dave surprised MacKenzie with a poem during the vows…
