Katie and Tony’s Spruce Saddle Lodge Wedding in Beaver Creek Colorado

Katie and Tony got married at Beaver Creek Wedding Deck and had their reception at Spruce Saddle Lodge! Their wedding day was a rollercoaster with the weather and we had a blast being able to capture it!

How They Met

Katie and Tony were both bar hopping around Clarendon (a town right outside of DC) and met at a dive bar named Clarendon Ballroom. One of Katie‘s friends ask Katie if she thought anybody at the bar was cute and she pointed to Tony! A couple of moments later this friend walked up to Tony and said “My friend thinks you’re cute, you should come talk to her.” It must of worked because a few days later, they met for their official first date over pizza and beer!

How Tony Proposed

Katie and Tony share a love of rock climbing and Katie had never climbed a desert tower. They drove out to Fruita and climbed the Colorado National Monument and Tony surprised Katie by proposing when they got to the top!

Their Wedding at Beaver Creek Wedding Deck and Spruce Saddle Lodge Reception

Katie and Tony got ready in condos at the Beaver Creek Resort. They met for their private first look outside at the bottom of the mountain! At this point, it was beginning to drizzle but the two of them didn’t seem to mind. They then met their wedding party at the top for photos and portraits but it soon began storming! Their guests managed to make it to the lodge but not before dozens were drenched on the chair lift up! After waiting out the storm, Katie and Tony were finally able to get married outside at the Beaver Creek Wedding Deck. Afterwards, it of course started to rain again. Finally when the storms had passed, we went back outside to get a couple more portraits (with a rainbow!) Everything ended up working out perfectly, but you never know what the weather is going to do in the mountains! Katie and Tony handled the day so well by going with the flow.
