Telluride Colorado Elopement — Karisa and Jake called me a couple months ago, asking if I would photograph their elopement sometime this summer. We looked at some dates and decided June would work best for our schedules. I was heading to Minneapolis (where they live) for a different wedding in May so Karisa and I were able to meet up and get coffee! I learned that she is a hair stylist and has had a lot of her friends get married over the last few years, so she has been a bridesmaid more than ten times! She does a lot of hair for weddings so she has seen the good, bad, and the ugly at weddings 😉 She and Jake decided they wanted to elope instead!

Karisa and Jake met at a gym. Jake was Karisa’s trainer! They started dating and eventually started talking about marriage. Jake told Karisa that he always wanted to get married in the mountains. Karisa had visited Telluride several years ago on a vacation with her family and knew it would be the perfect place to get married someday. (For those of you who have not been to Telluride, make that your next vacation!)

Their Telluride Elopement

On Monday June 10th, met Karisa and Jake at their hotel suite on the mountain village side of the mountain (Lumiere by Inspirato). Karisa’s parents had made the trip with them, and her dad officiated their ceremony. We all took the gondola up to the top of the mountain where Karisa and Jake said their vows. It was beautiful, sweet, and emotional. They had the perfect backdrop of the San Juan mountain range behind them. After their ceremony, we took some photos and then made our way down to the downtown Telluride side of the mountain.

We continued taking pictures across town and ended with some more photos on the trail by the river. It was such a beautiful day and these two were the most playful and fun couple!! You could tell right away that eloping was the perfect choice for them. The whole day was so stress free and they were able to do whatever they wanted! Congrats again you two! We wish you the best in your new life together as husband and wife!
