Jake and Megan’s love story started in the Grundy Center Emergency Department. Megan was on her emergency medicine rotation when one of the nurses whipped around in her chair and asked her, “So do you have a boyfriend?” Megan answered with an “Um… not really.” She replied that Dr. Keith Ruffcorn had a son. Then behind the scenes for the next two weeks the whole department conspired to set them up. Megan now knows that Keith told Jake all about her when they went out to dinner as a family around that time. But all he could offer when Megan asked about Jake was that he liked animals and worked construction. Needless to say, Megan didn’t get her hopes up.

Then out of nowhere, Megan received this “romantic message” via facebook messenger: “Hey my dad keeps saying how I need to talk to you haha.” They agreed to meet for pizza. Megan told her dad that evening that there was no way she’d be gone for longer than 1.5 hours. When the date lasted much longer, Megan’s dad started calling/texting every 15 minutes to see what was going on. When Megan got home, she found him on the banister getting dressed. He was going out to look for her, dead or alive.

So in summary, their relationship started with Jake’s dad thinking they were perfect for each other, and Megan’s dad thinking Jake was a serial killer!

Their Timber Ridge Lodge Keystone Wedding

Megan and Jake originally planned on getting married in 2020, but decided to postpone due to the pandemic. So in 2021, they were able to get married and have their dream wedding! They got ready ready at some condos in Keystone, then everyone road the gondola up to Timber Ridge Lodge. Megan and Jake had a first look by their ceremony site and then we took lots of pictures with that beautiful view!
