We’ve been so excited to share photos from Lindsay and Donald’s winter elopement in Vail, Colorado! But first, here’s a little bit about the couple:

How they met

These two met exactly one year before their wedding at a Starbucks when Donald asked to buy Lindsay a coffee. It was very cold and after freezing  (due to COVID-restrictions) and talking for half an hour outside, Donald said, “I’d really like to continue talking to you, but it’s incredibly cold out here. If I give you the keys to my car… would you want to sit inside with me?” Lindsay agreed to hold the keys and they got in the car to get warm. He gave her a blue candy cane “in lieu of flowers” and walked Lindsay to her car. Over the following few days of Christmas planning and events and nonstop texting, Donald asked Lindsay on an “official” date!

Donald later picked her up with flowers in hand and given the indoor activity restrictions, had to get creative while planning! First, they went to Gateway Mesa open space to hike. Halfway through the hike, Donald held Lindsay’s hand while she stepped down from a slippery area – and never let it go. Later, they ate sushi (Lindsay’s favorite) and candy in O’Brien Park. As it got colder, they moved to the car where they played Uno for hours. Donald asked if Lindsay would make a bet – winner calls the winnings and Lindsay agreed. Lindsay lost and he asked if he could give her a kiss. She said, “yes” and they’ve been inseparable since that day in the park!

Their Winter Elopement in Vail Colorado

Lindsay and Donald had their ceremony at the Avon Performance Pavilion, and Lindsay’s good friend officiated the ceremony. After a cold and quick ceremony, we all went to the Four Seasons in Vail, where they were staying, and we took some pictures around the hotel. It was such a sweet elopement day and I’m so happy for these two! Congrats, Lindsay and Donald!
