Tina + Jake

How They Met

Jake moved to Boulder May 2017 and Tina moved to Boulder just one month later. Not long after, they found one another on OkCupid and went on their first date in July. They had an immediate connection and started exploring Colorado together. For their first date, they met for tacos and margaritas at Tahona Tequila Bistro on Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall. Both of them being new to Boulder and being from opposite coasts (Jake from West Coast and Tina East Coast), there was plenty of good conversation. With the date going well, they hopped along the Pearl Street Mall exploring new restaurants and bars.

The Proposal

Christina is currently pursuing her PhD which allows her to travel the world. Jake joined her on a month long trip to Namur Belgium and Oxford England. They spent the first week of the trip In Belgium, primarily in a French speaking town of Namur. They stayed along the Meuse River overlooking the Citadel of Namur. Jake said he couldn’t pass up the opportunity and proposed to Tina November 29th on the outskirts of Namur’s Christmas village.

Their Wedding at The Greenbriar Inn in Boulder Colorado

Jake and Tina originally planned on having a big wedding in Philadelphia where Tina is from, but they changed their plans because of Covid. They decided to have a small wedding in Boulder and their immediate families were able to travel from the coasts to celebrate with them. They had their ceremony outside on the lawn at The Greenbriar Inn. Between the fall leaves, the bridesmaids’ fall colored velvet dresses, and A Florae’s beautiful floral work, their wedding looked like it was straight out of a magazine! In Fall of 2020, Colorado had some record breaking wildfires. Had Jake and Tina planned on getting married just one day later, their wedding wouldn’t have happened at The Greenbriar Inn since that area was closed off/evacuated due to the fires the following day!
