How They Met
Brynn and Robert met in a hostel in Budapest while both traveling in Europe alone. They spent four days walking around in the sleet seeing the city and drinking coffee and gluwein (mulled wine) and talking. Then they went their separate ways. After sporadically staying in touch for a year and a half via email, they reunited in person in Maine, where they went sailing and hiking a couple of times. But they didn’t start dating until the following February, when Robert flew to AZ where Brynn was going to grad school, so they could go to the Grand Canyon together. They spent a very cold weekend camping at the Grand Canyon and clambering around rocks in Sedona, and by the end of the weekend they knew there was something there!
The Proposal
They spent a long weekend over Thanksgiving at a friend’s tiny house in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The day after Thanksgiving (and also 5 years to the day from when they met in Budapest!) they went into the mountains to cut their first Christmas tree together. Robert had Brynn make the first cut, and when she turned around to say “take a picture of me!” he was down on one knee!
Their Wedding Day
Brynn and Robert got married on 10/10/20, the most popular wedding day in 2020! Even though they originally planned on having a bigger wedding on a different date last fall, they planned an entirely different wedding/elopement due to Covid. They drove all the way to Colorado from Maine (!) and said their vows on the edge of a cliff on Juniper Pass, surrounded by their family. It was the most beautiful October fall afternoon! They ended their day with a dinner outside by the creek at Blackbird Cafe in Kittredge. It was SUCH a perfect day. Congratulations, you two!!!
