How They Met

According to Abby and Aaron, eight years later, the story of how they met is still up for debate! They were paired up as lab partners in their 9th grade Biology class (love this!) That part, they agree on haha. Where the story differs is why. Abby, who says she was a total nerd in high school, claims that she was asked to help a struggling student. She asked for someone else, but got Aaron instead. Aaron, on the other hand, says he asked to be moved because he was distracted by a student at his table.

Their First Date

Abby and Aaron were 15 when they went on their first date. So, unfortunately, their parents drove them. They had a very typical high school date that included Red Robin and a movie!

The Proposal

Abby and Aaron went on a vacation to Cartagena, Colombia in the fall. They splurged and decided to spend one night on a private island (they only allowed 15 guests) in the middle of the Caribbean. The owner of the hotel told them that she was going to make them a private romantic dinner. They enjoyed their romantic dinner right next to the water. After dinner, Aaron got down on one knee and asked Abby to marry him! Of course, in typical Abby fashion, she had two questions: “Is this a joke?!” and “Did you ask my dad?!” Through lots of tears, she said YES!

Their Folsom Field Wedding in Boulder Colorado

Abby, Aaron, and their families are all big CU Buffs fans. Abby and Aaron decided it would be a perfect place for their wedding! (Did you know you could get married at Folsom Field? Because I had no idea until Abby and Aaron reached out to me!) Folsom Field allows couples to get married at the top, near where their event center is. It overlooks the football field with the mountains in the background. (What a view for Colorado football fans!) After the ceremony, Folsom Field allowed us and their wedding party to go down onto the field for some fun photos! We all had a blast taking fun, goofy photos.

Overall, Abby and Aaron’s wedding day was so fun and unique! It was amazing to capture! Congratulations, Abby and Aaron!!!
