How They Met
How many couples do you know that married their high school prom date? I can name a few, but most couples that I know or that I photograph, they either met online or through mutual friends. I LOVE that Cate and Rob met in high school and that their first date together was Prom!
Another cool thing about Cate and Rob – their love story has a snow theme to it. It snowed like crazy on their wedding day and it snowed when Rob proposed, too! Rob popped the question on top of Hoosier Pass in Breckenridge. Talk about some amazing views for a proposal!
Their Highlands Ranch Wedding
Highlands Ranch Wedding — It never fails, the first wedding that I photograph of every year is always AMAZING. It always sets such a high bar for the rest of the year, and Cate and Rob’s wedding was no different. The forecast had said snow on their wedding day all week, but when the day came, it was just cold and cloudy. We were actually hoping there would be at least some snow for photos.
They had a beautiful ceremony at St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Littleton. Afterwards, Cate, Rob, and their bridal party hopped on a party bus and headed to their favorite bar in Littleton called Jake’s. Everyone had a drink and we took some fun photos! Once we got back onto the bus and headed to their reception at Highlands Ranch Mansion, that’s when the snow started coming down! Within twenty minutes, the ground was completely covered. Cate and Rob (and their bridal party!) were troopers with the cold and we all had fun taking photos in the snow! It created such a magical looking setting. Once everyone was warmed up, it was time for dinner, toasts, and dancing!
Cate and Rob, it was such an honor to be a part of your perfect day. And to those of you reading this blog post, if it snows on your wedding day, embrace it! I promise it will be worth it 😉
