Red Rocks Trading Post Wedding and Buffalo Rose Reception

We are so excited to share photos from Naomi and Drew’s Red Rocks Trading Post Wedding Ceremony and their reception at Buffalo Rose in Golden, Colorado! But first, here’s a little more about this fun couple!

How They Met

Naomi and Drew met at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science! Drew‘s grandfather was one of the lead engineers who worked on the Apollo Lunar Module. His family leant many models and instruments to the museum for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Drew brought in the artifacts for representatives of the Museum to look at (Naomi and Samantha.) Naomi and Samantha were to decide if they would be a good fit for the loan. Samantha saw right away that there was chemistry between Naomi and Drew. So when it came time to make copies of the loan agreement, Samantha took the long way to the farthest copier she could find. She wanted to give them a moment alone to talk (unknown to Naomi or Drew at the time.) Naomi and Samantha worked with Drew and his family over several events that summer.

After all of the events were finished, Drew sent a very sweet email asking to meet Naomi outside of work to get to know her better. For their first date, they met for drinks at Bacon Social House in Littleton. Naomi was convinced that she scared Drew away after going on a nerdy rant about soil quality on Mars. Drew says, “I had him at perchlorates.”

How Drew Proposed

Fall is a favorite time of year for both Naomi and Drew. So going to see the aspens changing colors seemed like a normal Saturday. Drew threw off suspicion by letting Naomi think she was planning a day to meet friends (who “cancelled last minute”) up at one of her favorite spots above her hometown of Georgetown. After hiking for a couple hours and indulging Naomi‘s desire to test out her new camera with tons of photos, Drew brought them back to a special spot on a small bridge over Clear Creek where he proposed!

Naomi and Drew’s Red Rocks Trading Post Wedding Ceremony and Buffalo Rose Reception

Naomi and Drew got married at one of the most iconic places in Colorado – Red Rocks! They had such a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony at the Trading Post. After their ceremony, we took pictures around Red Rocks Park! Then everyone headed to the reception at Buffalo Rose in downtown Golden.

Since Naomi and Drew met at the science museum (and since they both have a love for science) they had a lot of moon themed items sprinkled in throughout their reception, including the centerpieces. Naomi came up with the concept for the centerpieces and Drew made it happen! He found a 3-D model of the Moon based on real NASA data. Drew then customized it to work as a “vase” and 3-D printed. He designed the circuit board to control the LEDs and assembled everything himself except the flowers.
