How They Met
Snowmass Colorado Wedding Photography — Kristin is a 5th grade teacher, so since she has summers off, she worked as a bartender at Lakewood Country Club for a few summers. She poured drinks when groups were around but otherwise she was able to study or read. One slow Tuesday, she met a new member (Tuck), and he just so happened to strike up a conversation after he sank his putt on the 11th green. He was charming and respectfully gave Kristin his number. It didn’t take her long to reach out and their first date was soon after! They had dinner at Shells and Sauce, which was followed by drinks and pool that lasted into the early hours. Kristin is a teacher and an early bird, so she knew she must have really liked Tuck since she stayed out so late on a school night!
The Proposal
Kristin and Tuck were about to leave on their most recent traveling adventure over Thanksgiving break 2018 when a few obstacles were tossed their way. After figuring those out, they found themselves on a direct flight to Tokyo, Japan. One of those hurdles might’ve been an expired passport… but nonetheless they arrived on a brand new continent! They thoroughly explored the city, devouring ramen soup, and walking for miles. Each day was a chance to explore the Japanese culture and in the final hours, Tuck found the perfect location. There are A LOT of people in Tokyo. Everywhere. But Tuck persevered and chose a quiet, beautiful, and private spot to pop the question in the Imperial Palace Gardens. It’s impressive to note (unbeknownst to Kristin at the time) he carried the ring with him everyday until it was just right. Kristin says that after being together for six years you would think she saw it coming. 😉
Their Snowmass Colorado Wedding
Snowmass Colorado Wedding Photography by Shea McGrath Photography — Kristin and Tuck’s wedding was unlike any other wedding we’ve photographed! Their wedding didn’t take place at a typical wedding venue. Instead, they had their wedding at McCabe Ranch, a large plot of land in the middle of the mountains. They set up a tent for dinner, dancing, and in case it rained (which it did), but ended up having their ceremony in the middle of the ranch, with views on all sides. It was breathtaking!
Kristin and Tuck got ready separately, with their respective bridal parties. Kristin and the girls had a lovely morning in Snowmass Village, and got ready in a beautiful home. Tuck and his guys got ready at the ranch, after they were done helping set up for the day. There were a couple of shuttles that helped get their guests to the ranch, since it was farther out in Old Snowmass and trickier to find on small gravel roads. After the guests were shuttled, the girls made their way to the ranch and about five minutes before their ceremony, it started to rain! Everyone ran under the tent until the rain let up, then it was time for round 2!
They had a short and sweet yet stunning ceremony in the most serene location. Right after their ceremony (during the recessional), Kristin and Tuck were greeted with a colorful rainbow! Needless to say, we took a few pictures with the rainbow, they signed their license, took some more photos, then it was time to party! Kristin and Tuck had taken a few dance lessons, so they had some moves to show off, including a little swing dancing!
It was seriously a perfect day. Congrats again, you two!
