How They Met

Before I talk about Rene and Mitch’s Trail Ridge Road engagement session, here’s a little bit about them! Rene and Mitch both grew up in Orange County, CA. They had mutual friends and similar experiences so its fair to assume this was how they met. Not quite. Although Rene and Mitchell were in different states in college, they continued to have similar experiences and mutual connections through volunteering and mission trips. Still their paths never crossed. Rene and Mitch both ended up in beautiful Colorado, and again developed mutual friends through work and church and that is almost what brought them together. So, like many couples in 2020, Rene and Mitchell met on Hinge. There was an immediate connection, however Rene was still worried Mitchell wasn’t outdoorsy enough for her lifestyle so Mitchell quickly became interested in hiking and camping. Ever since, they have been going on outdoor adventures and experiencing life together. Although it took a few decades for their paths to cross, their shared experiences and mutual friends allowed them to grow quickly in their relationship.

Their Trail Ridge Road Engagement Session

I had so much fun exploring the mountains at Rene and Mitch’s Trail Ridge Road engagement session! They knew they wanted an epic “top of the mountain” feel to their engagement photos. We decided to drive up Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park! For those of you that don’t know, Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuously paved road in the United States, reaching an elevation of 12,183 feet. We drove about 30 minutes up, stopping at a few pull offs on the way to take photos. It definitely got cold and windy the higher up we went, but the views were SO worth it. We also ran into a large (and loud) marmot that had a lot to say, and we couldn’t stop laughing. This was such a fun session and I’m so excited to share their photos from this session but also from their wedding that we photographed in the fall! Coming Soon 🙂
