Des Moines Art Center Wedding — I have known Liz for a few years because she is my friend Sarah’s older sister. So I was pretty excited when she asked me to photograph their wedding day, since I already know and love their family! Last October, Liz and Erik got married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines, IA. After their ceremony, they had a fun sparkler exit! Then, everyone made their way to the reception, which was held at the Des Moines Art Center. Liz and Erik chose to have more of an informal reception with their guests. They had appetizer stations instead of a formal sit down dinner, which is such a fun and creative idea! They had a taco station as well as a large antipasto station, which included a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, olives, etc. It was a great way to keep things less formal and have a wide variety of foods that everyone loves!

We had fun taking photos at the Des Moines Art Center. Their property has a beautiful flower garden, which made for gorgeous portraits of Liz and Erik! They chose the colors navy, burgundy, and gold (my favorite fall wedding colors)! Congratulations again, Liz and Erik! I wish you so much happiness in the years to come as husband and wife!!!
