How They Met

Olivia and Izaak are both from the Kansas City area and had worked for the same restaurant company for years. But they didn’t actually meet until they both helped open a restaurant in Chicago. Izaak had moved to Chicago to help run the kitchen for that restaurant and eventually Liv moved there too. Their first few dates were spent exploring Chicago together

The Proposal

Liv was about 8 months pregnant with their son, when they were going to take maternity photos. Towards the end of the photo shoot, Liv was standing under a beautiful arch of flowers getting her picture taken. All of a sudden, Izaak is standing in front of her, telling her how much he loves her. He got down on one knee and proposed! Of course Liv said yes! Liv said that she loved how their little boy was technically there, and it really felt like their family was whole that day. <3

Their Sprague Lake Elopement

Sprague Lake Colorado Elopement in Rocky Mountain National Park — Liv and Izaak reached out to me a few months ago, asking if I would photograph their small wedding/elopement in Rocky Mountain National Park. They had their ceremony at Sprague Lake with a small group of their closest friends and family. It was a beautiful day, with some cloud coverage but no rain, and the mountains looked as beautiful as ever! Liv and Izaak didn’t just share this memorable afternoon with a few family members, they shared it with their adorable son, Abe, who wasn’t shy about being front and center with them. There were so many sweet, emotional moments where he put his arms around his parents or held their hands. After their ceremony, everyone ran to give them giant hugs. They signed their marriage license and then we took some family photos. Afterwards, ended the afternoon by walking around Sprague Lake and took lots of photos of just the two of them.
