How They Met
Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding Photos — Before I get into the amazingness of Jenny and Alan’s Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding, let’s give a little background on how adorable these two are. As Rhianna puts it, Jenny and Alan found love in a hopeless place. Meeting 8 years ago in the retail world, they took a liking to each other’s ability to make the best of working nights, weekends, and Black Friday’s. They soon found themselves finding any excuse to spend time with each other. Whether it was a quick 30 minute lunch at Noodles & Company or a longer lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, Jenny and Alan spent the entire time laughing and complaining about all things related to adulting.
As time went on, they discovered that they both have a love for baseball and started to spend the majority of their summers at Coors Field. They also discovered that they both enjoy traveling and decided to combine the two. The first away baseball stadium that they visited together was Chase Field in Arizona. It was a road trip and in July. Needless to say, walking in 114 degree weather because there is a restaurant down the street you want to try and then you get there and the restaurant is closed is a good test of a relationship. They passed the test and decided to do it again…and again. They have since watched the Rockies play in Miami, Pittsburgh, and Milwaukee!
Jenny and Alan said that during their next chapter in life (the husband and wife chapter), they know that they will continue to visit baseball stadiums, more then likely obtain a Great Dane, and always continue to laugh and complain about how hard it is to be an adult.
The Proposal
Alan wanted to take Jenny to a birthday lunch the day after her birthday since they were both working. Alan decided earlier in the week that he would propose to Jenny during this lunch, thinking she wouldn’t be suspecting anything (which she wasn’t). It was also two days before a half marathon that they would be running together. As Alan thought of how he would ask, the perfect idea came to mind. As somewhat of a tradition before lunch/dinner, they usually toast to something when they order alcohol. Alan realized this was the perfect way to ask. So when the time finally came, the “toast” started. First he toasted to Jenny’s birthday. Then a toast to running a half marathon in two days. Then Alan asked, “What else can we toast to?” And that’s when he pulled out the ring and asked Jenny to marry him. Jenny said, “Are you serious?” before finally saying, “YES!” and the rest is history!
Their Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding
Getting Ready
Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding — Jenny and Alan chose Spruce Mountain Ranch as their wedding venue. One of the best things about this venue is that you can do everything in the same place. Spruce Mountain Ranch has beautiful a getting ready suite and cottage for the girls, and more of a “man cave” for the guys, where Alan and his groomsmen played poker, pool, and watched football.
Then they exchanged gifts. Alan got Jenny some new jewelry and cute pajamas! Jenny got Alan an engraved harmonica, since he has always wanted one! She also got him some new sunglasses!
First Look
Jenny and Alan had a “First Look” just outside the cottage. It was such a sweet part of their day!
Bridal Party
Next it was time for some fun bridal party photos! Jenny and Alan had a couple shotskis that they wanted photos of with their bridal party! Since the venue doesn’t allow shots, we drove off the property down the road and everyone had a couple shots to calm those pre-ceremony nerves 😉 Then we came back to the venue for a few more bridal party pictures!
Ceremony at Grace’s Chapel
It’s ceremony time! Jenny and Alan had their ceremony at Grace’s Chapel, under a beautiful tree. It was such a sweet ceremony, with lots of personal touches. Everyone learned about their love story. They also planted a tree as their unity ceremony!
More Pictures!
After their ceremony, we took some family pictures under the tree. Then the four of us walked around and explored Spruce Mountain Ranch’s beautiful property. Jenny and Alan’s portraits lined up perfectly with sunset so the lighting was beautiful!
Jenny had so much fun twirling in her dress that Alan decided to join in on the fun, too! 😉
Albert’s Lodge Reception
Now it was party time! Since Jenny and Alan share a love for baseball, they had a few baseball themed details at their reception, including their cake (with a topper of them wearing Rockies jerseys), baseball table numbers, and their baseball “guest book”! They had their reception in Albert’s Lodge with food catered by Footers. They had some fun bridal party grand entrances, a few toasts, and then it was time for dancing!
Just when I thought this wedding couldn’t get any better, we stepped outside for some harvest moon photos! Jenny and Alan had mentioned beforehand that they wanted to try to get a couple photos with the moon if the timing worked out. I’m so glad we did!
They had their first dances on the patio outside and it was the perfect night for it! Then everyone joined in on the dance floor for a couple of fun dances, including the Cupid Shuffle (one of Jenny’s favorites) and the Mexican Wedding March, which was so fun to capture!
We ended the evening with a photo by the fireplace. Gosh, we love these two. Thanks Jenny and Alan for having us be a part of one of the funnest and sweetest weddings we’ve ever documented. Cheers!!!
