We’ve been excited to share Rene and Mitch’s wedding photos which took place at the new venue, The Boulders, at Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park. But first, here’s a little bit about the couple:

How they met

Rene and Mitch both grew up in Orange County, CA. They had mutual friends and similar experiences so its fair to assume this was how they met. Not quite… Although Rene and Mitch were in different states in college, they continued to have similar experiences and mutual connections through volunteering and mission trips through Homes of Hope, but still their paths never crossed. Rene and Mitch both ended up in beautiful Colorado, and again developed mutual friends through work and church and that is almost what brought them together. So, like all couples in 2020, Rene and Mitchell met on Hinge. There was an immediate connection, however Rene was still worried Mitch wasn’t outdoorsy enough for her lifestyle so Mitch quickly became interested in hiking and camping. Ever since, they have been going on outdoor adventures and experiencing life together. Although it took a few decades for their paths to cross, their shared experiences and mutual friends allowed them to grow quickly in their relationship.

How he proposed

Mitch planned a hike to St. Mary’s Glacier and when they made it to the top, he popped the question!

Their Black Canyon Inn Wedding in Estes Park

Rene and Mitch’s wedding took place at Black Canyon Inn, a venue that has been around for years. However, they just built a newer venue on their property called The Boulders. The Boulders is two levels; the upper level is dedicated to the ceremony space with floor to ceiling glass doors so guests can enjoy the view of the mountains. The lower level is dedicated to the reception space. Rene and Mitch wanted to take some pictures in Rocky Mountain National Park, which is just a short drive from the venue. We went to the park for their first look and portraits, then headed back to the venue for wedding party photos and family portraits. After photos were completed, these two tied the knot! They enjoyed cocktail hour with their friends and family afterwards. There was a beautiful sunset during dinner that we took advantage of and took a couple portraits of them as well. Then it was time to party!
