How They Met

Krystal and Brent crossed paths in Oklahoma, soon after Brent moved there for work. They ended up talking on the phone months before having their first date (which ended up being the spot where Brent popped the question 3 years later!) They had their first date at a festival, where they drank wine, ate corn dogs, and talked for hours!

Their Engagement Story

Fast forward a few years later just days before their three year anniversary, Brent snuck an envelope to Krystal‘s boss, who sent her home early with it to read once she got home. It was a sweet anniversary card that listed instructions to go home and relax to start the weekend off early. Once home, there were arrows from the garage to the bathroom mirror where heart shaped post-its surrounded a second card. This card said to spend the day pampering herself to get ready and meet him at their first date at sunset. Brent also turned his phone off and said there would be no communication to ruin the surprise so when Krystal arrived to the boathouse, she followed the candlelit path until she saw her parents holding a rose. That’s when she knew that this was more than an anniversary surprise.

Farther down the candlelit path, she finally saw him ahead standing in a large heart lined with candles. As she approached, she saw his parents nearby holding a second rose. This was a huge surprise, since they sneakily flew in from New York! Everyone was crying by this point as Krystal finally reached Brent and the big question was popped on one knee. After celebrating and catching up, Brent took her hand and they ran down the river walk, where a horse and carriage were waiting and they took a stroll through the city to a limousine. The limo then took them to a castle restaurant. After dinner and drinks, Krystal expected to head home, but Brent blind-folded her in the limo and wouldn’t give any hints along the way to what ended up being a huge family and friend surprise engagement party at her uncle’s house! Can you say dream engagement?!

Their Wedding

Beaver Creek Wedding Deck Photos — I’m sure after reading their engagement story, it is no surprise to you that Krystal and Brent’s wedding was full of so much love. On the most perfect day in June, Krystal and Brent had their ceremony at the Beaver Creek Wedding Deck. Their reception was held at the Donovan Pavilion in Vail. They got ready on the resort and had a “no look first look”, where Brent wore an eye mask so he didn’t see Krystal until the ceremony. Everyone took the ski lift up to the top of the mountain at the resort where the wedding deck is, which made for a stunning backdrop for all of their out of town guests!

During their ceremony they created a time capsule box. They put letters to each other and a bottle of wine in the box, and nailed it shut using a hammer that belonged to Brent’s dad, who passed away last year. It was an emotional and beautiful ceremony full of tears and laughter, surrounded by their closest loved ones. Their reception at Donovan Pavilion was full of thoughtful and elegant touches, from the decor to three beautifully designed wedding cakes! Their friends and family toasted the newlyweds with words of advice, lots of hugs, and tears of laughter. Anyone in the room could easily tell how much these two loved each other.
