How They Met
Lydia and Jim first met while they were attending Golden West Community College. They were both in the process of becoming teachers. The first time they ever hung out, Jim took Lydia off-roading at Holy Jim Falls because she had never been. They started out as friends and spent a lot of time getting to know each other and knew they wanted to start dating after a trip to Fallbrook. After many motorcycle rides, off-roading adventures, and two step dances; they moved into their first apartment together in Brea. They turned 21, Jim had a job that supported them, and had many late pool and jacuzzi nights with friends.
A few years down the road, they bought our first house in Anaheim! Their dog, Toby, joined their family, they took lots of desert trips, and became river rats in Parker, AZ. After dating for almost 7 years, Jim proposed by the jetty in Seal Beach, Lydia’s home town. Afterward, they had an amazing dinner with all four of their parents at the same table!

They were offered an amazing opportunity to move to Colorado for Jim’s job. It was a hard decision to leave their home and family in California, but they knew it would be an adventure! Jim, Lydia, and their two dogs crammed into the truck and drove out to our new home in the “country.” They decided to have their wedding in their new home in Colorado at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland. Sylvan Dale is such a great venue because there is a lot of property and enough cabins for all of your guests to stay the night! Lydia and Jim were able to have all of their guests join them at the ranch venue for the entire weekend.
Their wedding was truly amazing. It was a perfect day for Lydia and Jim. They didn’t have a first look but instead saved that moment for when Lydia walked down the aisle. The rain held off until after the ceremony, but we took photos in the rain anyway! They also had so much fun dancing in the rain at their reception!
